About

Endurance sports used to be only for elite and professional athletes. But moms all over the country already know that motherhood is the true endurance sport. Let us introduce IronMommies, a group of moms serious about their fitness and their families. IronMommies are masters of transition, seamlessly moving from work mode, to training mode, to family mode. We compete in endurance races, extreme races, and adventures races and take fitness to the next level by participating in events that help raise money for worthy causes. IronMommies also help organize fitness fundraising events as well. Whether it is triathlons, tree climbing, 5ks, half and full marathons, charity walks, or having fun with family and friends, IronMommies are there for each other and for the community. We train hard, we play hard and we love hard. We are ordinary moms doing extraordinary things. We are IronMommies!

IronMommies originally began in the fall of 2008 when a group of Bradenton, FL, friends came together to train for the Susan G. Komen, Race 4 the Cure.  Under the guidance of Robyn Roszel, this group of non-runners, quickly learned that our bi-weekly group runs were too much fun and yielded to many sanity saving benefits that the group needed to continue training, even after the race was over.  Since then, Robyn and co-owner, Shelley Roberts, have worked tirelessly to promote new IronMommies teams across the country.

Robyn was born and raised in Venice, Florida and is a mom of two. She is an AFPA Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor.  She is a certified running coach through Road Runner’s Club of America (RRCA) and NESTA, and holds a triathlon coach certification from ITCA.

Shelley was born and raised in Aurora, Colorado and is mom to two preschoolers. Shelley is a USATF Level 1 certified coach and is an AFPA certified Nutrition and Wellness Consultant.

IronMommies welcomes women of ALL levels and abilities!!  We are here to support each other and encourage each other to achieve our goals while having fun and setting a fantastic, healthy, example for our families.  As moms, we have the opportunity to be the catalyst that gets or keeps our families on the path to a healthy lifestyle.

Do you have a goal to run a 5k, 10k, half marathon or even marathon? Would you like to compete in a triathlon? Join other moms who have similar goals and become an IronMommy!

No Mommy Left Behind!
